Hi, I have a customer who needs two Avaya doorphones installed on a Partner ACS. I took the two steps outlined to program the doorphone, which is on Ext 15. Those commands are #604 (assign doorphone extension) and #606 (assign doorphone alert extension). Now, my problem is which pairs to use when wiring it up, it says that it is phone line powered, so i have it wired up to the blue pair, and i know that green pair is for power, but the doorphone only has enough room for two pins, so can someone tell me which wires should be wired to the doorphone side???. I get nothing when I press the button. The entire 8 pins are wired on the system side. And, are there any other steps I may need to get this working?. All help is appreciated!!..Thanks...Charlie

Here is link to only manual that i found:

It does not need power just like a single line set. Have you tried it plugged directly into the system to see if is an inside wiring problem?

The door phone uses only 1 pair so ttech's suggestion is the way to go.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Thanks, I had not tried that yet, but will. It is the blue pair i should be using, correct?

Yes, use the Blue/White pair.

Also, if you are using a structured cabling setup, make sure you are using the same pair at each end of the feeder cable. I've "missed" more than my fair share of times. [purpleface]

yup, it's the standard rj45 ethernet layout.I will check the cabling and plug it right into the system to see what happens. Thanks for the all the quick replies, at least i know i have things right with programming, have to get back to basics now. I will report back next week!.
