Trouble w/Links to Microsoft Word Doc(s)

We use IIS and ASP. The problem is a Recruiter sends a link to our Intranet Forms sight to an Employee(s) - when they click on the link to the Microsoft Word doc they encounter the following error:
'Internet Explorer cannot dowload ...niversal Requisition Form.doc from Nathro4. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Pls try again later.'

This is happening on 1 or 2 other docs as well.

Any and all info/help is very much appreciated.
