Trouble resizing in UML Activity diagram.

I'm a bit new to Visio, and I'm working on a UML Activity diagram. I'd like to resize an Object in State. I went into the protection menu and cleared the Height and Width flags, but the only effect that that has is to make the resizing arrows show. I can neither drag to resize or manually set the height or width properties to a different value than Visio gives them.

What's going on here? It seems counterintuitive to me to allow a user to remove protection from height and width if you're not going to allow resizing anyway.
