I am having trouble loading up a 15 page document that is approximately 5 megs in size. It consists of a master page, with JPG and pasted images throughout. This has happened on two different computers now. Is this file lost?
Symtoms: It will start to open with the hourglass, but will just sit there and eventually "crash" the program. I have to CTL, ALT, DEL to back out and restart the application. No error notifications.

Have you tryed to use Marks Tools on the document. This is an Xtension for Quark which will open and repair QX documents.

Have you increased the memory allotment for the Quark program? I find you can easily double the min/recommended amount if you routinely use large images or a lot of small ones.

On the Mac, at least, you do this by quitting Quark, selecting its application icon (in the program folder), typing Command-I to get information about the program, select "Memory" pop-up in that dialog box (depending on system version, it may be right there in the dialog box when it opens), and increase the two values that show up (minimum and recommended.) I can't say how this is done, or even if it can be done, on a WindowBox.

Hope this helps.
