Trouble Reading tapes

Hello I got a quick question that hopefully you guys can help me with. We have a backup tape from one of our remote locations. The tape is an LT2 tape and our drive on our Dell LM6000 is an LT3. The Internal tape number is different that what the Bar Code is. How to I go about getting this tape to read? I am using NetBackup 6.4 and Backup Exec. 11.0V. Thanks for any help!
