Trouble printing to HP690C in network

Hi folks
I've windows XP and in my network I've got an HP690C printer.
When I try to print to it, the printer turns crazy.
It spits out completely blank pages or pages with dark lines.

To test if nothing is wrong with the printer, I tried to print from a windows 98 machine, there nothing went wrong.
Could anyone please tell me what's wrong.

p.s.
Connecting the printer to the lpt1 of the windows xp machine had the same result as the network connection

See if you can get some help via the following links. Have you got the print spooler service running? Have you got the updated drivers for XP and your printer?
