Trouble pasting characters

I found a character in my charmap that I want to use in some text in freehand. here is the symbol: ?

The problem i'm having is when I try to paste it into freehand it tells me i don't have arial baltic and asks for a substitue...if I choose any other font it turns my symbol into a bullet instead of the symbol I want...how can I make this work?
