trouble logging in to MSN mail 1

I've been teaching my friend how to use her email, but now she cannot log in to her MSN account. When she enters her login and password, she gets an error message that MSN cannot authorize her account. We called MSN support, and after 3 hours and as many techs, there was no resolution. They gave her a temporary password, but said that something in her system was corrupted. They had her reinstall MSN but that didn't work. We reinstalled Internet explorer and that didn't work either. The only suggestion they had was to reinstall Windows (she uses 98). It seems to be the tech help is grasping at straws, and where does one get a copy of Windows 98 anymore? She cannot locate her original copy, from years ago. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had a very similar problem with MSN and finally gave up. Had to create a new account or move elsewhere. Based on the tech support I got I had the client move to another service.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking along the same lines. I'm not sure which ISP to advise her to use, she is a very casual pc user, mostly email. I don't usually like to endorse AOL, is there another product I can direct her to?

Not a big fan of AOL.
