I am trying to connect my access tables to a backend.

Some of my access applications, with multiple tables, connect all tables on the the first attempt after browsing to the backend.

Other Access applications require browsing to the backend for each table in the application. That's ok with few tables, but I have a database with a lot of tables.

How do you control whether Access requires browsing for the entire application or browsing for each table in the application?

Thank you.

What is happening is that if you have multiple sources that are linked you need to select the tables for EACH source and do the linking ONE SOURCE at a time.

So, for example if I have a database with links to a SQL Server database and then to two Access databases, I would first select all tables for the SQL Server database and then click OK (after having the checkbox "Always prompt for new location" checked) and it will ask you for JUST the SQL Server and will relink those.

Then you select the tables from ONE of the other Access databases and then you do the same and select the appropriate database and then it relinks.

Then you select the tables that are in the second one and only those tables.

If you select all of the tables to relink and you have multiple data sources then it will act just like you described. But make sure to do one source at a time and it will go very nicely.

Well, I am not able to connect. I have 40 tables and have gone through 50 repetitions of trying to connect and have no joy.

Thanks.

What do you mean "I am not able to connect?" What does that mean. What steps are you taking and what messages or anything are coming up? Where are the tables you are trying to relink to?
