Trouble installing c#.net

Hi Everyone,
I installed Windows XP Home Edition and then proceeded to try and install c#.net. I was prompted for the Windows Components Disk and it said that installation failed on the .Net Frametwork, Windows Installer and one other thing, can't quite remember. Anyway, I have been trying to find help with what to do next and I even tried the work around that is suggested if the components don't install and that didn't work. Please help. Thanks. Heleen

I think you need to install the Microsoft Windows Installer Service 2.0 (mentioned in the .NET readme).
