Hi,

I've got a problem when trying to open a Word97 document, that includes Excel worksheet at work. The document is in the normal PC-formatted 1.44 MB disk. The excel worksheet is not in the disk. Both of them I have in the hard disk of my computer at home, where I last edited the document. There it worked well.

I used normal Copy-Paste inserting the worksheet into the document. (I just wanted the table there). I did not use Paste Special or anything else. Now when I try to open the document at work I get the message "Word can not open the document. Restore the network connection bla-bla-bla..." After "retry" the program simply says that it can't open the file. What could be the problem? Does the simple Copy-Paste make the worksheet Linked or Embedded? Could this be the problem?

I would appreciate if someone knew the answer. The document is quite important and I don't have a back-up without the sheet included... :-(

Thanks.

PS. I haven't tried to open it at home, where the excel worksheet is.

Well... I guess I have to wait till there. I just would have needed the document here... I'd also like to know how to avoid this kind of problem later.

Thanks anyway.
