Hi all,
I have a problem booting my Sun Ultra 10. I do hear the normal beep alright but the light infront doesn't come on. There's no video output on the monitor too.
I've tried this over and over again but nothing shows up. Can someone please help?

connect a laptop or dumb terminal to the serial port.
You can use Hyperterm as the terminal emulator.
The port is configured as: 9600 baud
1 start/stop bit
no parity
8 data bits

The cable between the two must be wired as:

Ultra 10 (DB-25) laptop (DB9)

2-------------------------3
3-------------------------2
7-------------------------5

Also if you have another Sun system you can use tip.

This type of connection will allow you to see more info during the POST.
