Hi,

I have a spreadsheet of data. The IDs are all 6 digits and formatted as numbers and look fine. When I go to import it into Access, it only brings through about 800 and the rest are errors. I go back into Excel and the rows that aren't importing are right justifies in their cells whereas the others are all left justified. Also, when you sort them, it only sorts the ones that are left justified. They are all formatted as a number so I'm all terribly confused!

any ideas how I can solve this little conundrum?

Thanks in advance

the fact that some are left justified and some are right indicate that some are text and some are numbers.

when you do an automatic import into Access it looks at the first cell and decides what kind of field it needs to be in the table.

instead of doing an automatic import, when you are doing the import specify what kind of field it should be...

Select all of the "left-aligned" cells in Excel and pick the little note that appears and choose Convert To Numbers or whatever it says.

Where are you getting the Excel file from? I've had the same problem with an Excel file that gets exported from an internal company website.
