Hi,

I am having trouble connecting to any website from a computer that I am trying to hook into our office network.

I have filled out all of the IP addresses and have made the gateway ip match that of other PC's in the office. I have assigned this computer a unique IP.

I think that i have a connection on the computer b/c I can ping the "new" computer's IP. I can ping from the "new" computer to "old" computers that are working fine. I cannot however ping myself from the "new" computer.

I just want a simple internet connection.

FYI: Our office network is a dsl modem hooked to a typical wireless G router. Any other specifics I'll have to look up.

I would appreciate any direction or guidance. thanks in advance.

If you cannot ping yourself, you may have firewall issues.

Check proxy and firewall settings.
