TROUBLE DIALING OUT ON A PRI MICS 6.1 SYSTEM

I am setting up a PRI for the 1st time with NI2 protocol. The incoming service is working fine, directing calls to target lines to appropriately ring and appear. However, when I try to make an outgoing call it is not working. I believe there is something in the routing for outdialing that I have to program the system for...what it is I am not sure. I have already deprovisioned the unused channels and the used channels are set up in pool PRI-A. I assume I need to program a digit to access this line pool. I know that digit 9 is used for line pool A, should I reassign this for PRI or use digit 8 for dialing out? Any detailed answers are appreciated.
 
You cant program a digit for getting an outside line on PRI-A. You need to setup a route and destination code combination that points to PRI-A. (ie. 9(ANY) strips the 9 and calls route 222 and route 222 says use PRI-A.

Thats all there is to it.


 
I have now followed fact sheet faq 799-1646 and this almost has me finished. I am to call long distance numbers and numbers such as 310 1010 (Pizza Hut). These 310 numbers are fixed 7-digit numbers. In Vancouver British Columbia we now have to dial a 10-digit local number such as 604 555-5555 for local calls. I seems that the system is cutting me off on the 7th digit when I dial 10-digit numbers.
 
Second sentence in my previous message should read "I can call long distance .......
 
you need to change the dial plan to 10 digit

Thanks all for the input. In System, Dial Plan, Public Network, Public DN. Changed from 7 to 10. All is well now.
