Trouble Converting profiles from Workgroup to Domain 1

When I converted our users from Workgroup to Domain, in-order to save time I went ahead and logged onto the domain, went back out, renamed both folders, and went into the registry and changed the profile path. But now the system is very unstable, 'example' we lose connections to the server. And when trying to log-in it takes an unusual amount of time for the personal settings to load.

I don't understand this because I don't have roaming profiles I just have local ones.

Has anyone come across this issue too? Does anyone know why this is happening? Or better yet does anyone have a solution for this?

focus on profile folder permision, like hive ntuser.dat.
