Ok, i'll let you know right now that I'm way over my head here.

I am a mangager at a hotel and they gave me instructions to monitor the security system at my hotel from my laptop at home. I am using windows XP and am connected via a wireless router. Obviously the instructions they gave me did not work. I have the ip address of the camera and the username and password but could someone walk me though how to connect to it? Thanks,
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
First, we need a bit more information. What model is the camera and how do they want you to access it, via an internet browser ? (internet explorer)
Also, make sure the ip they provided doesn't start by 192. or 10. since those would be intranet addresses.
Was their system tested ? Is the hotel firewall correctly configured ?
