Trouble adding users through Sharepoint Administration

I all of sudden cannot add or manage users on my main default Web page under Sharepoint administration. When I try to add the user it comes back saying my Domain name is invalid. When I click on a user to manage, none of their roles show up.

I can however, add and manage my subweb pages. Any ideas??
