Using the Initial PRI Setup form from FAQ, I'm configuring a new PRI on my Legend 4.0 system. But I the system won't accept any line numbers under "B-Channel group. The original configuration uses 19 LS lines 8101-8119. I was trying to use a new line group of 8201-8213. but I must be doing something wrong.

for a pri b channel you need 2 digit slot number 2 digit channel number

Go to lines trunks, pri, b-channel group, lines, group #,touch buttons of lines you want in group.

Thanks for the replies, I did configure b-ch with slot numbers 0323-to-0301, the system took those fine, but I still cannot add "lines" from "linestrunks,pri,b-channel group, lines, group#. either from spm or from line buttons on the console. I tried either in or out of pool, 3 digit or 4 digit line numbers. But it rejects all line number entries. something I'm missing?

Do a print of pri info and see if you don't have those lines assigned somewhere else.

Still struggling with entering lines in the B-group, I have removed all line appearances from the console and pools, and still can't enter a line number into a b-group, are these "line numbers" related to "trunks and pools" or new and unique numbers.

thanks

I think CVRBOB is right on.

To explain that a little bit more:

Assume you have a 100-D card in slot 5.

Then your b-channels would be something like:

0501, 0502, 0503 and on and on.... (up to 0523)

Perhaps this will help.....

Your reference is to B-channels, those went in fine, as 0323-0301, The problem I'm having is with B-Channel Group lines. or "Lines and Trunks > PRI > B-ChannelGrp > Lines > Group number = 1 >Enter Line Number (NN).

Thanks for any help

it only refers to lines in your DS1
so if you have 2 408 cards before your DS! module you have lines from 9 to 35 as 36 is your D channel
was this DS1 a previous T1, did you remove the line from that correctly
a print out may help of your lines

Do a print and see what your line numbers are. Sounds like you are trying to enter #s that don't exist.

Thanks cvrbob, you may have hit on something, yes it was a previous T1 with 7 Tie lines, ( I removed the Tie lines) and there is a 800 and a 408 card before it. so is the thinking that the B-channel Group lines refer to logical line numbers in the switch?

when you say you removed the tie lines , did you also remove the programing for the channel & lines from the T1 programing before programing for the PRI, THAT HAS TO BE DONE FIRST . yes line refer to their logical line #, so your first line to the PRI is line 813 to 835 with 836 as your D channel

The PRI is up now, after Qwest rebuilt the trunk group and I removed the extra zero in my outgoing table.

Thanks for everyones responses, this site is invaluable.
