Trouble accessing MCP site

Has anyone here tried to set up new access to the MCP site after passing a test? I passed the 70-270 exam about 3 weeks ago. About a week later I got an email saying that Microsoft had received my exam records. This email gave me a "Microsoft Certification ID" and said:

"If this is the first exam you have taken, you will receive an additional E-mail containing instructions for activating your Microsoft Certification ID and accessing the Microsoft Certified Professional Web site."

I never got the second email. So I went to the MCP site and tried to sign it. First it wants to associate it with a .NET Passport, which I tried to do, but it requires my MCP ID (I'm assuming that this is the same as the "Microsoft Certification ID" that received previously) along with a "temporary access code." I never received the code, so there was a button to have it generate a new access code. I filled in all of the relevant information and it did send me an access code, but I still can't get in.

Am I crazy to expect this to be working within 3 weeks of passing? Do I even have the right number for my MCP ID? Should I just keep waiting? I get an error message with a link that says that it will take me to customer service, but it just redirects me to the Microsoft Learning home page. Do you think that there's something wrong or should I just be patient? I didn't have to wait anywhere near this long for the CompTIA site.

If I remember correctly I needed to use one of the codes off of the printout from the testing center.

Failing that email mcp@microsoft.com. They are usually pretty helpful.

I think they're having some issues of late i looked on my transcript a few weeks ago and noticed that my 2003 MCSA wasn't listed. I looked a few days ago and it's listed that i passed it at the start of this month even though i took it months ago and it's listed as that on my printed transcript.

Thanks. I sent an email to MCP@microsoft.com explaining the situation. Hopefully they can get it sorted out.

It amazes me that it takes them so long to process test results and candidates. With the CompTIA exams I would get an acknowledgement of passing the exam the morning after taking the test, and it would show up on the web site within a day or two. The actual certificates usually took a week or so to get to my house, but the online portions went quickly.

With Microsoft it was a week before they even acknowledged me having passed the test, and 3 weeks later the only evidence that I have is the results page from the testing facility.

With the MS exams I have just done the results were updated on MCP site the next working day. However the confirmation e-mails have been taking about a week to come through.

After your access to the MCP site is setup, exam results usually show up within a day or two.

The initial setup of access was a pain.
