i have a database on a citrix server. I have the forms, queries, etc in one databate (compcomp) and the tables are linked to the prospective databases. (xref, csur, dlog, vlog). all of this is contained in the same folder on the server. J:\databases
i have the individual computers J drives mapped to j:\databases. In the linked table manager, it says the tables are linked J:\xxx.mdb.....it works great from individual computers...but when you access it from the server...it won't let you access the individual databases. But when you change the linked table to read J:\databases\xxx.mdb it works on the server..but then it won't work on individual computers. HELP...i know i am forgetting/missing something...........thanks in advance.

It appears that you have mapped a folder and called it "J:" which point to a drive ion the server and that folder
databases.
One way to fix it is forget mapped drives and just refer to everything in UNC

\\servername\foldername\xxx.mdb

To expand on Doug's response,

the UNC is not "ONE" way to fix this, but the only way to be sure that your app will work in a hetrogenous environment.

There is never time to do it right but there is always time to do it over

If running on NT a quick fix is to map the J: drive on the server to the server drive the databases are located on.
