Hi,

Has anyone else come across this virus. It has infected my email server and Kaspersky keeps quarantining it. Even when I have deleted the files the email server keeps recreating it in .msg files.

I presume it may have infected a dll file but who knows! We are implementing a new server soon so should get rid of the problem, I just don't want it to happen again or if it does be able to get rid of it.

If it helps, we are running xp pro with communigate as the email server.

I have a general question about the free trial version of EWIDO. My friend downloaded it and installed it on her Dell Pentium PC 1.3 gighz 256K ram Running XP service pack 2. She said it took 8 hours just to get up to 80% complete with the scan. She believes she has some trojan infections. Is this normal for EWIDO to run so slowly as to take 8 hours for 80% completion? would the full licnsed version be any faster with the scan? Thanks

I think the free 14 day trial is going to work exactly the same as the fully licensed version. It is the exact same product.

It's probably slow because it's got problems and can't get through them very well. I would recommend running it in safe mode, etc...

Hey, Erik,

OK. thanks for the information. I have not taken a look ather pc yet but she did say it found a lot of trojan and other malware stuff up to the 80% point. then, she had to turn it off in order to get out of safe mode to read her email. She knows she has to run it again in safe mode but hopefully, it will not take as long. Intuity

pechenegs,

Should also tun off the restore feature to prevent reinfecting the pc before we boot into safe mode? Intuity.

no, turning off system restore means they have no restore point to go back to, anything in system restore cannot get out of system restore, as only system restore can access system restore!
