Hi

Symantec related page:
I've done a fairly comp. search for this virus and found nothing. NAV (part of NIS 2004 suite) told me about a virus that planted msnarrator.exe, so I cleaned them all out and deleted the registry entries as per symantec's instructions. shut down, rebooted, rechecked and they're all gone.

However, now in Internet Explorer V6.0.2800, (Netscape is fine)everytime I click a link (annoyingly) I get the following NAV warning: "Norton Antirus has detected and removed a virus from your computer".
Object Name "C;\WINNT\msnarrator.exe,
Virus Name Trojan.Narat,
Action taken The file was automatically deleted.

I click OK, click a link and up it pops again!
I've not been able to find msnarrator.exe, and I am convinced I have removed all the reg key files Symantec advised.

I can only think it is one of two things, someone trying to hack in constantly or there's an error in NAV or it's removal instructions. Any one had this problem, or provide some help?

Many thanks
John

Try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Folder.

"evil prospers when good men do nothing”

tried that but it had no impact.

Any other thoughts?

cheers
