Troble connecting to MySQL

I need to create an ER diagram of our database. I want to use Visio to do this. However when I try to connect through Visio the application locks up and I have to close the app using Task Manager.

Here is what we have
MySQL 4.1
ODBC driver 3.51 for MySQL
Visio 2003

I can establish a successful connection with the database through Administrative Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC).

I read on the Visio site at microsoft that you must associate the databases driver to one of Visio's ODBC drivers. Example: link an orcale ODBC to Visio's oracle ODBC.

I haven't found anything on the site relating to MySQL.
