I need to use a triple DES encryption for passwords in a COBOL program.
I have been trying to call a C program -Cipher- but I cannot pass any parameters via an exec sentence.
So I need some COBOL triple DES encryption routine or I need to leran who to invoke a C program from a COBOL one.

Hi,

I don't have triple DES for you. There is a COBOL encryption program on the market with an encryption key of more than 20000 bits. It is called ZisCrypt and will soon be available at the site
There are some free examples of interacting with C programs on the ftp site of CA. You can find their FTP site at ftp://ftp.cai.com/caproducts/realia/Samples/

If you use an other compiler, try to find the examples from the other supplier. On the installation disks of your supplier are perhaps also examples.

I hope this is helpful. :)

Has anyone seen a triple des program for the mainframe environment?
