Trimming The White Space

ok. I know how to trim the white space on a sprite by opening the property inspector and clicking the check box intitled "trimming white space"...When I run the movie, the white space is not trimming.%-( It could be something little that I have forgotten since I am still new to Director 8...X-)

How about using the ink setting "background transparent" in the property inspector?
