I have an Access database with several label reports, all using the TRIM function (made with a wizard) that no longer work since upgrading to Access 2000. It seems not to recognize TRIM anymore, and prompts you to fill a parameter called TRIM. My user tried recreating the reports anew in the upgraded database, but those did the same thing. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I had a similar problem with an Access97, not 2000, database where it didn't recognise simple functions like Left(), Right(), etc.

This was because the database had been built in an earlier version of Access97 and the references had changed. The Microsoft solution of reinstating the references did not work.

Try to create a blank database with Access2000, then IMPORT all the database objects from your original. This worked for me, and I have had no problems since.

Hardy, thanks! Your solution worked great, for whatever reason.

Dreamboat, when you create a label report in Access by wizard, it throws in the Trim function - I have no idea why. These particular reports are pulling directly from the tables. Thank you for the time you spend on this site. I've gotten so much help here!
