Trigger - Execute Query and E-Mail Results???

Just checking to see if Oracle 8.x has any ability to setup a Trigger within the INSERT to check for certain conditions via a query. If any results are returned from the query, then the query result can be e-mailed to the necessary parties.

I've actually developed a cheap/ad-hoc solution using MS Access and setting up an autoexec macro. Then having the NT Event Scheduler launch the MS Access database each hour. But, there has to be a better/cleaner way to do this task. ...

Sure you can do this. You use the UTL.SMTP supplied package to email. This is documented in the Supplied Packages manual. If you don't have manuals, you can view them online on the Oracle Technology Network site.
