hello all.
Firstly, thanx for all the help on the "dull colours" post :), it seems to be ok now!!
NOW i have another odd problem with a trifold flyer i have designed.
the format is A4 and the folds occur at 9.9cm and 18.8cm.
this has been double checked with the rulers (also set to cm) in illustrator.
i have saved it to pdf and printed a test version but for some reason, the flyer doesnt fold where it should, its as if the content has shrunk...
you can see it here:

or the illustrator file

i have no idea why this happens, it seems to show fine in the files themselves.
maybe a printer problem??

thanx

steve

Steve:

Could it be that you have your print dialog set to anything other than "None" in the scaling dialog, or do you have "Choose Paper Source by PDF Page Size" checked?

Have you tried setting up a crop area exactly the size of the A4, instead of relying on the artboard (just in case there's any invisible stuff sticking out)?

Steve:

It did occur to me that you're mentioning 9.9 and 18.8 cm, where I'd expect the second number to be 19.8 instead. You do have a guide at 18.8 it looks like, is that possibly where the problem lies?

Also, I found 2 typo's you may want to fix (there may be more, but these jumped out at me):

>religiöse Erzieheung

>Das Speilen im freien

Bert

again it seems to me as if ive made some basic errors...
i will fix the typos (im not german, im english)
as far as the 18.8 vs. the 19.8 is concerned, that is yet another typo....
DOH!!
i think the problem is the printer, i just got my girlfriend to print it out at work seeing as we`re bone broke and have no printer. i think the settings at her work are configured to "letter" as opposed to A4.

i`ll let you guys know how it pans out.

thanx again for the advice!
