How do I

merge to rows from a table eg

Number Name Value1 Value2 Value3
111 Fred 300 200 150
111 xxxx 300 400 50

so it looks like

111 Fred 300 200 50

I only kind of get what your logic is behind the merging of the two rows but in general you can group by the Number field and set formula or total fields up in the group footer that are based on the two detail rows above. If you don't want to see the 2 detail lines you can just go to format section and format the details section to be suppressed or hidden. So you have....

Page Header: Number Name Value1 Value2 Value3
Group Header:
Details: 111 Fred 300 200 150
111 xxxx 300 400 50
Group Footer 111 Fred 300 200 50

where all the values in the group footer section are formula fields that you've created to manipulate the detail fields above. You can then hide/suppress the details section so that only the Group Footer Line appears on the report.

Hope this helps :)
