i'm tweening a graphic to move upwards.

but i dont want it to be visible if its below a certain 'x location'

ie if any part of the graphic is below x:25 then that part of the graphic should be invisible (alpha 0%) and if any part of the graphic is above x:25 then that part of it shoudl be alpha 100%

i thought of using a layer to hide it behind but because my very bottom layer is my background image i found it impossible

does what i say make sense?

cheers

Have you tried to use masking? You can mask an area that your graphic travels, and have the bottom of the mask stop where your X location is. It will magically disappear when it goes beyond the masked area...

Are you feeling that?

I'd gladly pay you on Thursday
for a hamburger today!

cheers kirderf.

ahh - a mask, i'm new to flash so i've not used them yet, i'll have a go. if (when) i cant do it i'll post back.

ps is your sig from popey?
i always thought it was "i haven't got any money today, but i'll gladley pay you on tuuuuuuuesday"

yes sir the mask worked a treat, i know it was only a simple question but still, a deserved star nonetheless.
