POP3 and IMAP4 can be enabled. Using IMAP is recommended if you want a combined usage + add'l security (backup - archive etc). For use of IMAP make sure the file format is right, and on a existing / 'old' mailbox follow the procedures in Domino Admin to make sure it's IMAP compatible.
To load POP3 or IMAP just type in LOAD POP3 or LOAD IMAP on the server console. To start up as default add it in on the TASKS line in NOTES.INI
I don't know the device described, but as long as it is POP3 or IMAP compatible it is possible. POP3 does have some disadvantages in a combined usage (Notes client + mobile device), since the default is to remove the mail from the server after download. If this functionality is disabled, the download & check speed will 'decrease' over time (if the Inbox contains a lot of messages that is)
