trends in advertising by e-commerce businesses

Hello,

I'm trying to find information (stats mostly) on what percentage of gross the typical e-commerce company will spend on different types of advertising.

Ex: in 2004, mid-sized e-commerce companies spent an average of 5% of their gross on online advertising, etc..

Does anyone have any idea where I can find info like this?
