hi all,

I can't find a trendmicro or a general AV disucssion forum so hopefully somebody can help me. I'm trying to create a build that will run the above utility after it has been deployed to each machine. TrendMicro help says to copy the above file from the av server and run it. then it says that it's been configured to run the next time the machine is started, but it doesn't run and when I got to the directory that i've copied it to, it's not there. why is this? has this something to do with sysprep?

anybody able to help at all please?

This is how we do it. From the client machine: On the web browser address line we put in the antivirus web server ip address followed by the file name.

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\officescan

this gets to the server. Then we click on the install client option. Several warnings pop up asking if you trust trend micro. You select yes everytime. It completes the install and the icon is running in the tray at the bottom right of your desktop. Placing the icon over it will give you the current build installed. You don't need to restart the computer.

Hope this helps.

sorry, I didn't explain very well. escentially I need to force a reboot, but can't do it in the answerfile because of the imaging software that we're using (it's custom built). So I put an entry in the RunOnce key in the registry, but sysprep keeps removing it. Is there any way that I can get sysprep not to remove it?

sorry, I have too many threads going, that reply was for another thread !!!!

I didn't explain this one very well either. We can't just install trend micro on the build and then deploy it because then all the machines will have the same SID (or whatever trend micro uses as a SID). So we have to run the imgsetup.exe utility to remove the sid from the host machine and then deploy the image. My problem was that the file was getting deleted before it could run but I solved the problem. After you run imgsetup.exe for the first time, it runs next time you reboot, then on the next reboot it deletes itself. My problem was that I didn't realise this and that I was doing too much at once, and couldn't understand how it was getting deleted.

thanks for the reply all the same, hope none of the above sounds confusing!!
