In Excel one has the ability to produce a trendline on a chart that represents the relationship of x to y. It also gives one the option of displaying a formula representing that relationship.

My question: Is there a way using built-in Access functions to replicate this relationship formula between x and y values?

Here is what I am working on. I have two columns of data (x and y), where some corresponding values are missing from column y. In general, when the value of x increase, so does the value of y. I want to fill in those missing y values using a formula based on the corresponding value of x (the trend formula produced by the Excel trend line).

I'm obviously not a math wizard, but I suspect one of the built-in Access functions does this.

Any ideas?

beyond advancing the 'lack of whizardry' claim, I can refer you to the proper "term" to use (Regression Analysis" and the search engine, There are threads here (Tek-Tips) and the generic world of freely posted software.
