Think I've been pretty patient with this so far, but it just sits there and does nothing...

The URL is
Make appropriate selections, agreements etc., then hit "Starting HouseCall" in upper lefthand of screen. It now says "Updating and starting HouseCall", and I see "Transfering Data..." in the middle of the screen.

The ADSL router (1Mb connection) flashes to indicate some activity, but that's about it for the past 2 hours. 30Gb hard disk is less than a third full and has about 30,000 files on board.

Is there a problem with this site, or should I to expect this to take all night?

Is Java and Java Script enabled?

I noticed the exact same problem on my machine a few nights ago. java app never loaded, and the alternative active x control loaded but never started after clicking the scan button.

you might try selecting the activex control as opposed to java "I want to choose a different kernel" was one of the options when reloading the page, I think.

curiously enough, later I got an error about it "not supporting double byte" something or other.

my thinking is its just not ready for prime time yet. although the java is a nice idea....

they should mark "B E T A" all over that page! :)

Thanks for replies. Yes, Java and Java Script enabled. I gave up in the end and went to the Panda site. Whizzed through it in no time, and told me what I wanted...
