Tray 3 isn't being recognized on HP LJ4250n

I have a HP Laserjet 4250n. It comes with 2 trays, and I'm trying to install a 3rd tray, a 500 sheet feeder. It's not being recognized at all in the printer, has anyone else had this problem?

What do you mean by not recognized ? Menu.... operation......tests.......

Problem has been resolved. The Tray was from a Laserjet 4200, and the Laserjet 4250 has a different tray.
