tray 2 of hp laser 2300 not functioning

The office has hp laser 2300 which for one year printing using papersin the Tray2.Since june 11th, the printer cant use papers in the tray2;it has stop functioning.I used the configurations buttons to reconfigure to use try 2 but does not save the configurations
However, tray 1 does not behave like that so is only tray 1 that is working.But I want to use papers in Tray 2
Pls does anyone have an idea

Try define on the printer directly via the menu paperhandling what kind of paper is in what tray. In this case here, the size is not that important. Make sure that the trays are not set to the same kind. Try print a job from a connected client PC where you would select papersource by type and not tray number.

Auger282 is correct.

I had this problem recently; what it boils down to is that the printer "forgot" that it had another tray.

Hold down the job cancel button (the little triangle) while powering the unit on. Hold it down for about 5 seconds, then release it. All three lights should come on.

This solved the problem for me.
