Trapping TVN_SELCHANGING in a TreeView

Has anyone trapped TVN_SELCHANGING in order to implement something like a _BeforeNodeClick event on a treeView control?

I've setup a test program whereby I've hooked a TreeView control on message TVN_SELCHANGING (-401), but the message is never received.

Any ideas?
