My customer, has transtak 9031 that cannot be used. The display on the phone continuously says "Change Button Map". I have already changed the communications system settings to register phone to a Merlin phone system. The display shows LCL:M1 which is the right button map for their system. My question is why does it continue to say "Change Button Map" if the phone is registered to the phone system?

2dicoth5 Thanks!!

My opinion is that it's toast.

wait a minute, just curious, you said the button map should be set to "merlin" but you posted in a "partner" forum.....shouldn't the button map be set to Partner???

Thanks -Hal for your response. My peers and I have come to the same conclusion that something is wrong with the phone and we are going to replace it. Sorry Jinxs, I just noticed what I did by posting this question in a Partner Forum. I was on a time crunch on Friday and just needed to get the question out.

Thanks for your reply!!

Mmmm, before you replace it take a look at what I had to say about them in the "MDW 9031 Wireless Phone Problems" thread below. A new one will probably have another problem. Better to sit this one out and wait for a new model.

Try changing the button map, then change it back. I assume the ext port is compatible with the transtalk.

Also, try it on a different port to make sure the ext port does not have an issue.
