after quering the database i get the following data

1/1 A 2
1/1 B 1
1/1 C 2
1/2 A 1
1/2 B 3
1/2 c 2

In the report i wanted to get some thing like

DATE A B C
1/1 2 1 2
1/2 1 3 2

Anyone knows how to do this..
thank you ...

Use Insert->Crosstab and place it in the report header or report footer.

Place the date in the row, the letter designating field in the column, and the value in the summary field.

thanks that helped a little, how do you refer to a particular feild in that crosstab to do some calculation in the report.
i don't need those exact data i need to convert them into % of total and put them in detail

thanks once again.

Please provide more information about what you are trying to do. There are options in the expert to change the summary fields to percent of row total or percent of column total. Or did you mean percent of grand total? What is the summary that you are currently using--a count, a sum, or?
