Transport Schedule Requirements

I realise that this is probabley not the right place to get this information but it is normally very good for my formula questions, Anyway here goes.
I have just been handed the job of scheduling the transport vehicles and drivers for a local school. (Old chap that ran it has sadly passed away) 8 buses 10 drivers all part time plus fuel etc. There are no records as such so can start from scratch if needed. I did think of doing a database in excel but ended up in all sorts of issues and I dont want to complicate it anymore than I need. Is there anybody out there that has a simple data base or know of a cheap programme or trusted freeware would be good that would do the job. Any help would be really good.

Nothing comes to mind, but something like this should be simple enough in Excel. What are your requirements? Perhaps we can help you sort out the issues.

Thankd for your suggestions guys. Was trying to avoid any work at all and put in place a ready completed joby that doess it all but cheap to aquire. Then hand over to the new replacement when he has been sourced.

Unfortunately, the nature of scheduling setups require that at least a moderate amount of effort be spent. Unless you happen to strike oil, there's just not much getting around it. Give it a whirl though, do a google search. It couldn't take more than half an hour to suss out some options.
