Hi,
as already answered you can use the windows/panels/effects/Alpha effect and bring down the opacity of the object to the desired transparency.

Not falling for that one...

If you want to import an image that has a transparent background save it in PNG 32 format out of Photoshop or Fireworks and Flash will display it correctly.

Ctrl+R to import...

Alternatively you could always use the _alpha settings and...damn!

Just make sure you've converted it to a symbol...or else it wont work and the alpha options wont show up. Regards,
