Hi,

When I create a transparent GIF in Fireworks 4 I get ragged edges when I place it in a web page with a colored background. Am I creating the gif incorrectly ? Are there some settings I need for the gif that will clean up the edges ? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

GIFs can only contain one level of transparency, so you can't get smooth edges like that. The best workaround is not to use transparency at all, but create the GIF with the same colored background as the rest of your page.

well you can actually go in when you go to export your gif and remve colors you dont want...so pretty much isolate your jagged edges and elimitate those colors from the pallete [Hammer]

deecee's right, that's the best way to do it if your background isn't a solid color. If it is, then crabby's idea is best and quicker. [gorgeous] Ladyborg
