Guys,

I have an image that has a white background and I want to make the white transparent. CAn anyone tell me if this is possible??

Thanks. Mighty :)

Hi,

I believe you are talking about extraction. You want to extract an image out of it's white background.

There are many ways to do this and you will just have to play around with them to get what you want done.

Use a combination of channels, quick masks, magic wand, color range, and the eraser. You basically need to erase the white background using a combination of all the items I have listed above.

Sorry I have no time to tell you how to use each of those but it should get you started.

Hope this helps!

You can also double click the layer, and play around with the 'Blend If...' section. Drag the right hand slider for 'This Layer' to the left a little, then alt/option drag it again to create a smoother transition.
