Ok, I recently posted a question about having difficulty with transparent backgrounds - I did get that one fixed.

Now I am having difficulty again! In Illustrator I have a path - I have placed text on that graph. I have done nothing fancy to it. I want to place it into pagemaker but I want it transparent. I have saved as ai, tiff, psd and eps. I have copied into photoshop and saved as psd, tiff, eps and used the transparent background wizard.Nothing is working!!!

I have done this many times in the past and it has always worked well. What am I doing wrong? Could my preferences have gotten messed up? If so how to correct? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Save an EPS from Ill 8 or above. Make sure transparency is checked in the 'save as' dialog. Place in PageMaker 6.5 or above. You may not see transparency onscreen in PM but it is there and will print.

Someone here previously suggested rotating the EPS in PM by a degree to kick in the transparency display onscreen.

I knew that sometimes the transparency does not always show but even when I printed these (all eps are above 8) they printed with a white background. Yep, I did see the one about rotating and tried it and it did work. Thank you much for your response.

And the amount of rotation required is much less than a degree - I think if it is available in PM, then as small as 0.01 of a degree is enough to remove the white box, and the difference is not apparent to the eye.
