Is it possible to set a percentage transparent backgroundcolor on a table. Something that can be compared to the "filter: alpha(opacity=85)" property in stylesheets. The reson that I want use tables is that I can't get the stylesheets to work in netscape.

I think the alpha filter is the only way to do it. Unfortunately, as you say, it only works in IE.
Sorry.
Hope I helped / Thanks for helping
if ((x<10&&y<10) &&(((parseInt(x.toString()+y.toString())-x-y)%9)!=0)){ alert("I'm a monkey's uncle"); }

I suppose the only other thing you could do is to make a small transparent gif with every other pixel filled in. That way, half of it would be see through and the other half solid. Then you could tile it as the background image of the table.
Not great but a suggestion none the less. Hope I helped / Thanks for helping
