Hi there !
I want to make flash buttons to lay them over a html background graphic and need to make the films background transparent...

Can anyone tell me how ?

Thanx alot

To make the Flash movie have a transparent background press Ctrl+Shift+F12, select "Transparent Windowless" from the "Window Mode" drop down box and click "Publish". The background is now transparent.

Use DIV functions in your HTML to create layers and place the Flash layer above the graphic layer and voila, Bob's your uncle!!! [sig][/sig]

I've made exactly what you said, and it is not working.... mmhhh, what could I've been doing wrong?? Any suggestions??
Thanks!! [sig][/sig]

OK,

Kudos to netpalm2000! Bob's my uncle for sure... ;-) I'll be having plenty of fun with that little tip.

Now for the next question on the same sort of topic. I want to load a movie into an existing movie, and I want the loaded movie to have a transparent background _inside_ the existing movie (so the existing graphics show through the newly loaded one).

Anyone know how to do that? Can it be done? [sig][/sig]

You have to load the new movie at a different level. Create your second movie with the same dimensions and just draw your elements in the stage. Don't create a background an don't publish in windowless in this case.

In your original movie, assign the Load/Unload Movie action to an instance (it can be a frame or a button). In the Load/Unload options, select Load Movie and in the URL enter the name of the second movie. i.e. second.swf (it can be relative but make sure both movies are in the same directory, otherwise is a pain). Now in the level option, select 1 or 2 (your original movie is at _level0)

That is it. Now you can control the original movie from the second or viceversa with the Tell Target action, but that is another question.

Hope that helped.
