transparency

hi,
i saved a logo as a gif and png, with a transparent background. The logo has a white outline around it. when i change the "matte" option in png to black...the outline changes to black....i want perfect transparency...no outline...how can i do this???/

dont use a matte.

well....I thought of that...choosing "none". My image unfortunately becomes very jaggedy and bad looking when I select "none."

The smoothness is there when I select "white."...or another color....but then the outline of a color is there, which I don't want.
