Transparency corruption

HIy, I really loath corel draw 11, but i have to use it for work.
If anyone can help me with this i will be very greatfull.

I have a problem with transparencys, for example starting a new corel draw 11 page A4. I create a red box to fill the page, the create a smaller yellow box. Now when i add a "two colour pattern" transparency to the smaller yellow box i get corrupt white lines surrounding this box, and this looks a real mess, (why does this happen) I am using a P4 3GHZ and an ATI 9800 PRO with the latest drivers.

Any ideas???

Is it only on view or does it print like this too?

Yes it is on the view, and also when printing, although when printing i often get many more white boxes on the printout, than are visible on the screen.

Are you printing to a Postscript printer? Transparancies can produce very large files so I always change these to a flattened bitmap before printing, this often reduces file complexity.

But why does the image currupt on the screen, if you do what i said in my first message, does this happen to you? I can flatten the transparecny to a bitmap but then the images loose all there quality, and converting to a 300dpi bitmap makes hardly any difference to file size.

does the same thing happen in Corel Photo Paint, or are you putting the transparency on vector stuff only.

Yes im working in vector, as if i convert to a bitmap, the quality becomes very poor anything under 300dpi.

Should i not add transparencys to vector squares? Then maybe this really is an appaulingly bad made package!

I'm working in V10 but if you describe exactly what you are doing I'll try to recreate here over the weekend.

Yer thanks, If you take a look at my first message that describes basically what happens whenever i add a transparency, I would expect to have some sort of corruption when working with big files with many details on screen, but not when starting from a blank page and only using two coloured boxes.

I was thinking in terms of what colour model you were using regarding your job. Pantone for instance does not support transparency (everything would be converted to another colour model) although there are workarounds on output.
